Description

MAARC MTA Fast Set is an MTA dental material for root and pulp treatment. It is a mineral trioxide aggregate made by Aadi Med Pvt. Ltd. (MAARC Dental) in India. Each kit holds 1 g of powder, 5 ml of liquid and a dispensing scoop.

What Is MTA in Dentistry?

MTA stands for mineral trioxide aggregate. It is a calcium silicate material used in endodontics and vital pulp therapy. Many clinicians also call it MTA cement or a root repair material. In short, it seals and repairs areas where the pulp or root meets the surrounding tissue.

MAARC supplies its MTA as a powder and a liquid. The powder is based on tricalcium and dicalcium silicate. Because the grain is fine, you can mix it to a sealer-like or a putty-like consistency.

Who Is It For?

  • General dentists who perform pulp capping and pulpotomy.
  • Endodontists who handle perforation repair and root-end filling.
  • Pediatric dentists who need a material for vital pulp therapy.
  • Clinics that prefer a powder-and-liquid MTA they can mix to the right consistency.

Uses of This MTA Dental Material

The manufacturer lists a wide range of indications for this MTA dental material:

  • MTA pulp capping: indirect pulp capping, direct pulp capping and partial pulpotomy.
  • Pulpotomy: MTA pulpotomy in suitable cases.
  • Liner and base: use as a cavity liner or base.
  • Open apices: apexogenesis and apexification.
  • MTA root repair: perforation repair of the root or furcation.
  • Surgery: MTA root-end filling.
  • Endodontic sealing and obturation.

Because one kit covers so many procedures, this MTA dental material can replace several products on your shelf. Even so, case selection and technique are always the clinician’s decision. For each indication, follow the MAARC Instructions for Use.

Key Properties of MAARC MTA Dental Material

  • Easy handling: fine-grain powder that mixes smoothly.
  • Fast set: MAARC describes this formulation as fast setting. See the IFU for times.
  • High pH: as stated by the manufacturer.
  • No discoloration: white material that, according to MAARC, does not stain the tooth.
  • Biocompatible: stated by the manufacturer, which also says it promotes mineralization of tissue.
  • Good radiopacity: so you can check placement on a radiograph.
  • High strength: MAARC says this makes it suitable as a base restoration material.

Why Choose MAARC MTA Dental Material?

MAARC MTA gives you a simple, focused kit. You get the powder, the liquid and a scoop in one box, so there is nothing extra to buy before your first case. In addition, the fine grain lets you work with a thin mix for sealing or a dense mix for an apical plug.

The 1 g multidose pack also suits clinics that place MTA cement only a few times a month. You mix a small amount, close the bottles and keep the rest dry for the next case. As a result, a compact MTA dental material kit like this one helps you control waste.

How to Mix and Place MTA

First, take the powder with the supplied scoop. Next, add the liquid in the amount the IFU states. Then mix on a clean, dry pad until the mix is uniform. After that, carry it to the site and condense it gently against the walls.

A dedicated carrier makes placement easier. For example, the PacDent disposable MTA carrier delivers small increments with control. To compact the material, you can use a Flexivo endodontic plugger. For full steps, see the Instructions to Use tab.

Powder-Liquid MTA vs Premixed MTA and Bioceramic Putty

A powder-liquid MTA dental material lets you choose the consistency for each case. It also suits clinics that mix only the amount they need. On the other hand, a premixed material saves mixing time and gives the same consistency every time.

If you prefer a ready-to-use option, see EndoCem premixed MTA or Meta Biomed CeraPutty bioceramic putty. For canal obturation with a sealer, Endoseal MTA White is another choice. You can also compare every option in our bioceramic putty and MTA collection.

Storage and Handling

Store this MTA dental material between 10 °C and 30 °C, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Because this is a multidose pack, close the bottles tightly after every use. In this way, you protect the powder from humidity.
